Fresh seasonal vegetables from a small family owned 50 farm in Wilunga.

“Feedback from our customers is that our vegetables last all week because it’s so fresh. It’s our biggest selling point and it’s what our customers come back for” says Francesco Virgara. Francesco and his wife Sarina grow seasonal vegetables on their 50 hectare Virgara’s Garden farm between Willunga and Myponga.

They produce over 20 different vegetables in any given season.  Sarina and Francesco pride themselves on offering the freshest, seasonal vegetables every week at the Farmers’ Market.

They have carrots, potatoes, onions, beetroot, swedes, turnips, parsnips and lettuce all year round. In summer and autumn they have beans, peas, tomatoes, zucchini, corn and capsicum. During winter and spring look out for cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, beetroot, parsnips, also artichokes and garlic.

Sarina and Francesco also grow their own olives and produce 2,000 litres of olive oil for their market customers. In addition, they pick and sell pistachios from their 150 pistachio trees every April.

Together, this hard working team gets huge satisfaction from being able to supply three markets every weekend with produce fresh from their farm.

Find Virgara’s Garden stall located outdoors at the Adelaide Farmers’ Market every Sunday. Be sure to pick up a bottle of their exquisite small-batch Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon wines before you go.
