Sustainably Sourced Australian Seafood in a Tin

Little Tin Co was born in Autumn 2020, when founders Dan and Rachel Weeks found themselves on Deal Island, Tasmania, serving as volunteer caretakers during the Covid lockdown. Isolated in the middle of Bass Strait with months of supplies, they began to question why tinned fish had to be mass-produced from unknown sources and shipped from across the globe when Australia has an abundance of quality, sustainable seafood.

With their backgrounds in commercial fishing, conservation, and sustainable food production, Dan and Rachel decided to take action. They sold their business, bought a canning machine, and set out to learn traditional methods of preserving seafood. Their mission? To create delicious, sustainably sourced products using local Australian ingredients.

Little Tin Co works with chefs and food lovers to produce artisanal canned seafood, prepared using traditional methods passed down through generations in Mediterranean coastal villages. Each tin is packed with rich umami flavours, showcasing the best of Australian waters, including Port Lincoln smoked sardines and mussels, Australian salmon, pâté, and more.

Find Little Tin Co every Sunday outdoors at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market and discover their carefully crafted products, perfect for enjoying anytime, anywhere.
