The Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market (ASFM) is thrilled to announce its achievement at the prestigious Australian Tourism Awards, where it has emerged as a bronze medal winner in the “Excellence in Food Tourism” category. This esteemed accolade is a testament to the market’s commitment to offering authentic food tourism, showcasing South Australian produce from each region of the state.

After winning the South Australian Tourism Award in November 2023 for the “Excellence in Food Tourism” Category, the ASFM secured a spot as a finalist in the National Tourism Awards.

The Australian Tourism Awards stand as the epitome of excellence within the industry, serving as the national benchmark for outstanding achievement. Finalists are meticulously chosen from each of the state’s Gold winners, representing the cream of the crop in tourism across the nation. These finalists undergo a thorough evaluation by an esteemed panel of industry experts, culminating in the announcement of national winners. on Friday 15th March at a ceremony held at the Darwin Convention Centre, the winners were crowned, showcasing the diverse and captivating array of Australia’s tourism offerings, reflecting the rich tapestry of Australian life.

The “Excellence in Food Tourism” category was fiercely contested by a wide range of food-focused businesses across Australia. ASFM’s success not only recognises our dedication to South Australian food but also highlights our exceptional contribution to the Australian tourism landscape.

Christine Robertson, the Executive Officer of the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market, expressed her elation at receiving this award. “This was our first time entering at the State level, and now to win at the National level, we are just overjoyed.
