Our Mission

Driven by our passion for supporting local growers, artisans, and the community, the mission of the Adelaide Showgrounds Farmers Market is to provide a dynamic platform where fresh, seasonal produce and unique artisan food are showcased. We aim to create a welcoming environment that encourages sustainable living, fosters connections between producers and consumers, and educates visitors about the importance of mindful consumption. Through our commitment to quality, integrity, and collaboration, we strive to enrich lives, promote wellbeing, and contribute to the vitality of South Australia’s local economy.

Adelaide Showground Farmers' Market is an incorporated not-for-profit organisation, supported by over 3,000 members. The first market was held on 2 October 2006. The market was established with the assistance of the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society.

Our Vision

To be the beating heart of South Australia’s sustainable food culture, fostering connections between local producers and the community through a vibrant and enriching farmers market experience.

Our Committee

A small team of staff is employed to manage the market. Policies and strategic direction are set by a committee. The volunteer committee comprises a mix of stallholders and market members:

Lynne Dickson - Chair
Fellow of the CPA and AICD, Lynne brings almost two decades of experience to guide our committee's financial decisions.

Geoff Page - Stallholder/Vice Chair
Geoff's stall Gooseberry Hill has been part of the ASFM since it started in 2006, missing only one market in the entire 16 years.

Mike Rowe - Finance Specialist/Treasurer
Having initially trained as a chartered accountant with KPMG, Mike developed professionally by pro-actively undertaking commercial and strategic roles. He has worked in senior financial positions in various industries and this diversity of experience enables me to introduce best practice to an organisation.

Trish Simpson - Secretary/Community Member
Everyone knows Trish. She once ran Murphy’s Crossing Free Range Eggs and was a familiar face at the market every Sunday, chatting with customers and fellow stallholders. Although no longer behind a stall, Trish remains part of our community. She still manages properties in the Meningie area, grows the grain her chooks feed on, and raises sheep — staying true to her farming roots..

Jordan Philp - RAHS Representative
Jordan is the current Marketing Manager for the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of SA Inc.

Gay Wallace - Legal Specialist
Gay is a lawyer with over 30 year's expertise in commercial law which she generously brings to our committee.  She is also a weekly market shopper and an enthusiastic cook.

Norma Loza - Stallholder
Norma's stall, White Valley Jalapenos has been a long term stallholder at the ASFM. Norma offers immense market experience and brings with her considerable board experience as well.

Rae Chapple - Market Member
Rae is a Wayville local and a market shopper since the market first began. You will see Rae at the market every Sunday. Rae has a strong interest in sustainability and the environmental impact of the market.

Sabine Kloss – Community Member
Sabine brings over 30 years of experience in marketing, public relations, fundraising, and communications across the not-for-profit, disability, animal welfare, and retail pharmacy sectors. As Brand & Philanthropy Manager at Diabetes SA, she develops innovative campaigns that support vital community services. A long-time market member, Sabine is passionate about South Australian food and loves visiting with her grandson. She also serves on the Board of Retired Police Dogs SA and enjoys diving, camping, yoga, cooking, and exploring all things local.

Daniel Warburton – Stallholder Member
Daniel is a dedicated artisan with a rich background in the food industry and co-founder of the acclaimed Honor and Neighbours cafés in Paris. With extensive experience in hospitality and market operations, he brings a deep understanding of international food trends, community connection, and sustainable practices. As the maker behind Neighbours’ renowned sourdough crumpets, Daniel is passionate about strengthening South Australia’s local food culture and supporting the continued growth and success of the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market.
