Handcrafted Italian Biscuits

For Stefania and Diego, baking has always been more than food,  it’s been a lifelong love story. Born in the town of Ascoli Piceno in Italy’s Le Marche region, their childhoods were filled with the simple pleasures of homegrown vegetables, fresh milk from the family cows, eggs from backyard chooks, and bread baked from scratch. Their passion for Italian food began at just five years old, learning at the elbows of parents and grandparents in the kitchen.

Childhood sweethearts by sixteen, they went on to study cooking together before travelling across Europe, working in patisseries and restaurants and deepening their craft. In 2018, a holiday to South Australia changed everything, they fell in love with their “second home” and decided to make Adelaide their forever base.

Today, at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market, Stefania and Diego share A Taste of Italy with the community. Their handcrafted biscuits, made with local ingredients and family recipes, bring authentic Italian tradition to South Australia each week in the outdoor section of the market, with some gluten-free options available too.
