Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. In a pan over low heat, slowly sauté the garlic, onion and celery until fragrant. Allow to cool slightly.

  3. In a large bowl, combine the sautéed mixture with the remaining filling ingredients, reserving 1 tbsp of whisked egg for brushing. Divide into four portions.

  4. Cut each puff pastry sheet in half to create four rectangles.

  5. Shape each portion of filling into a log and place it in the center of a pastry rectangle. Roll the pastry over the filling, seam-side down.

  6. Cut each log into six equal pieces and place them on the prepared tray.

  7. Brush the tops with the reserved egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds (if using).

  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown. If using multiple trays, swap them halfway through.

  9. Serve warm with tomato chutney.
