Pack a yoga mat, towel, water bottle, blanket and some comfy clothes, and head to the market a little earlier this Sunday for the first of our new Sunday morning yoga sessions with Dhyan Foundation Australia.
Starting at 7.45am under the verandah near Patlin Gardens, this relaxed 40-minute session will include gentle movement, breathing and meditation, finishing in time for the market opening at 8.30am. Kids are welcome to quietly join in too, although the session is designed mainly with adults in mind.
The session is part of a short trial, with plans to run fortnightly if there’s interest from the community.
Dhyan Foundation Australia has been offering free community yoga sessions across Australia since 2023, focusing on physical and mental wellbeing through traditional Vedic practices. The session will include abdominal breathing, gentle back and spine strengthening exercises, and guided meditation designed to help calm the mind and prepare you for the day ahead.
Run entirely by volunteers from all walks of life, the foundation is dedicated to sharing authentic Vedic knowledge through free workshops, sessions and retreats for the wider community. Their work brings together people from many backgrounds, all contributing their time to support community wellbeing through accessible yoga and meditation practices.
Afterwards, stay on for breakfast, coffee and your weekly market shop. Real food, fresh air and a slower start to Sunday morning.
