Most events will be free to participate whilst others will require a booking and sometimes a small charge. This year, kids can write to Santa at the Market on Sundays from 3rd November to 8th December! We have special postcards for them to craft their messages, and they’ll receive a personal reply in late December (while supplies last). It’s free—a fun way to bring back the magic of writing letters to Santa!
Note: Due to holiday postal delays, we can’t guarantee letters will arrive before Christmas, but we’ll fast-track all letters. Make sure names and addresses are clear for a timely response! Kids can bring their own letters and post, too.
Don’t forget—Santa will be visiting on Sunday, 15th December for a Free Photo Opportunity! Details below.
Pop-Up Health Check Clinic (24 Nov)

We’re excited to host our second Pop-Up Health Check Clinics at the Market! Flinders University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences will provide FREE health checks, including monitoring blood pressure, testing blood sugar levels, assessing BMI, and offering basic health education. The Mobile Clinic, staffed by qualified students under expert supervision, will be located in the Market Pavilion alongside the St Johns. Take advantage of this opportunity to monitor your health. They are back. On 24th November the Adelaide Kitten Rescue will be back and running the the ASFM Community Connect Sausage Sizzle. Founded in 2020 by a veterinary nurse and a dedicated group of volunteers, Adelaide Kitten Rescue works to combat the stray cat and kitten population. Their mission is to engage with the community to reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens, while also providing support and education on pet care. Funds raised will cover vet care, food, shelter, and essential supplies to support their rescue efforts and help kittens find loving homes.

Santa will be joining us at the market in December and you will be able to to capture that last-minute holiday photo in our charming farmers' market setting – and the best part is that its absolutely FREE! You just have to bring your device, and we can take the photo for you.
We will also have SA Youth Guitar Ensemble performing live and face painter (for a small fee) to add some Christmas magic. Best of all, market admission is FREE!

RECIPESausage Sizzle with Latvian Community (PAST)
On Sunday 10 November the Latvian Association SA Inc will return to the market to run the ASFM Community Connect sausage sizzle stall and raise funds to purchase national dresses and organise cultural events, that help enrich our local community. Established in 1949, this non-profit organisation preserves Latvian culture in South Australia, they have been an integral part of the Wayville community since the 1960s, and warmly welcomes all visitors to explore their museum and participate in their various activities.

This week, the 'Dream Team'—a group of under 15-year-old female soccer players—will be running the ASFM Community Connect Sausage Sizzle to raise funds for their trip to the Kuala Lumpur Invitational tournament this November/December. On the 15th September between 9-11.30am the Goodwood Primary School 5/6' students will deliver a variety of fun and handcrafted activities alongside the Pop Up Adelaide Farmers' Market. Their activities will include everything from candles, dog bandanas, slime, and greeting cards to play dough, scrunchies, and pet rocks. There will also be sideshow alley-style games like Nerf gun target shooting, magnetic fishing, tin can throwing, and a ping pong cup throw. Shoppers can browse second-hand sports equipment, records, and books or try their luck with guessing jars, a raffle, and a lucky dip. All products are student made with a focus on sustainability. Support our local community this Sunday in the North Yard of the school grounds.

German Film FestivalSausage Sizzle with Latvian Community (PAST)
On Sunday 28th April the Latvian Association SA Inc joined the market and ran the ASFM Community Connect Stall. Established in 1949, this non-profit organisation preserves Latvian culture in South Australia. The fund raised are being used to purchase national dresses and organise cultural events, that help enrich our local community. Thank you for supporting this community group by purchasing a sausage sizzle. They have been an integral part of the Wayville community since the 1960s, tand warmly welcomes all visitors to explore their museum and participate in their various activities.

You will be required to pay for face painting, but on some occasions we will promote that it's free.
Banksi Bubble Fairy is Back (PAST)
Banksi Bubble Fairy from Arts by Nature enchants with eco-friendly bubbles, captivating children with her big and little hand bubbles and giant bubble making tools. Join us on Sunday 12 May for Mother's Day from 9:30 to 11:30 as she brings joy and wonder to young hearts with her mesmerising bubble magic.
Banksi the Bubble Fairy will also be joining us on the 19 May as well as the 2 and 31 June.
Catch Us before the Games (PAST)
On Sunday morning the 7th April, we were joined by over 5000 visitors at the Farmers' Market. Attendees stocked up on supplies before the big games and engaged with South Australian farmers and producers. Families brought the kids along for a fun Kid Club activity, where they decorated their own Guernsey-shaped cookies in their favourite sports team colors (details on the kids club page). Additionally, there was a face painter and live music to enhance the atmosphere. The community connect sausage sizzle was a highlight, raising over $1300 for Lost Pets of South Australia thanks to our supportive community. The market is open every Sunday at the Adelaide Showground from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Come join us.
Community Connecting for Pets (PAST)
On Sunday 7th April market visitors swung by our ASFM Community Connect Sausage Sizzle Stall and showed their support! We were supporting Lost Pets of South Australia, an awesome group dedicated to reuniting people with any pet that had gone missing. They had over 100 volunteers on the case and receive no government funding, so it just pure dedication. They had helped reunite over 100,000 pets with their families and even bagged some awards for their fantastic work! Attendees grabbed a snag and helped us help them keep connecting pets with their people. The very supportive market community helped them raise over $1300 for this cause.
About Lost Pets of SAFarmers' Market Easter Fun (PAST)
On Easter Sunday, we hosted our annual Easter Egg Hunt Trail from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Kids were required to visit the stall alongside the information stand to collect their treat bags containing tokens and instructions for the Easter hunt. After completing the hunt, they had the opportunity to fill out entry forms for a chance to win one of two Hen Hampers valued at $88 each, with the winners announced at 12 noon. During the event, the Easter Bunny made a surprise appearance delighting attendees. Additionally, a free face painter busily morning painting faces with an Easter theme.

With six squads, the Southern Dragons represent South Australia at the Australian Men’s and Mixed Netball Championships, entirely self-funded by the athletes. The funds raised will directly support their food budget for the week, vital for their performance at Nationals. Your support has a tangible impact on their journey to success. Our first ASFM Community Connect sausage sizzle with the 1st Gilberton Scout Group on Sunday 4 February was a huge success! Thank you for supporting this new initiative that raised funds to directly enriched the groups camp programs. At 1st Gilberton Scout Group, scouting fosters holistic youth development through fun and adventure. Funds raised directly support program enrichment, providing essential camping gear, training for leaders, and hall upkeep. With Joey Scouts (5-8yo), Cub Scouts (8-11yo), and Scouts (11-15yo), they cultivate a diverse, supportive community. ASFM Community Connect was designed to give back to our local community, and will regularly offer space outside the market pavilion for a fundraising sausage sizzle.

In 2023 the market opened on New Year’s Eve (Sunday 31 December) from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and became a one-stop shopping destination for all things festive. Our community was able to grab last-minute essentials such as delightful gifts to fresh supplies to enable them to get through the holiday break. It was a huge success with many South Australia's enjoying a Farmers' Market feast during the Holidays Season.

On Sunday 17 December 2023, between 9 am - 11:30 am Santa joined us at the market and you were able to to capture that last-minute holiday photo in our charming farmers' market setting – and the best part was that it was It's absolutely FREE! You just had to bring your device, and we would take the photo for you.
To keep the festive spirit alive we were joined by SA Youth Guitar Ensemble who performed live Christmas carols from 9:30 AM. We also added a Bouncy Castle and face painter to add some Christmas magic. Best of all, admission was FREE!
Find the 12 Elves (PAST)
On Sunday 3rd December many joined us and hunted for the 12 Elves on the Market Shelves between 8:30 am to 12 pm whilst enjoyed the enchanting tunes of Biodegradable Bards. The prize draw took place at 12:15 pm on Sunday, 3rd December 2023 and congratulations to our two winners were: Ruben and Alex K.
🚒 CFS and Smokey at the Market (PAST)
On 26 November, the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) joined us at the market, bringing along Smokey the Koala. The CFS, relies on dedicated volunteers to provide essential fire and rescue services across SA. Last Sunday, many showed their support for these incredible volunteers by engaging in free, fun activities. Participants had the chance to take pictures with the mascot, Smokey, and let the kids try their hand at aiming the fire hose.

On Sunday 1st October we celebrated our 17th Birthday and Chef Kane Pollard delivered a 'Spring Breakfast’ demonstration in the Pavilion Kitchen. He demonstrated how to perfectly poach eggs, create blood orange Hollandaise, blanch asparagus and make herbed potato hash browns.

The Adelaide Showground Farmers' Market has been the heartbeat of Adelaide for 17 years providing farm-fresh, seasonal produce to our community. We owe our success to the incredible support of our community. On Sunday 1st October we celebrated 17 years of growth and shared values with cake, a cooking demonstration, live entertainment and more. It was a huge success as Genevieve showed market goers how to use every part of citrus so there is zero waste. The demonstration was held at 10am at the eastern end of the market pavilion.

Join us Sunday 25 June at the Market for a special charity event: ASFM Big Splash for Puddle Jumpers 🌟 From 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Adelaide Showground, we are rallying our amazing customers to make a difference by supporting Puddle Jumpers, an incredible organisation dedicated to helping South Australian children in need. We will have a dedicated stand accepting donations of any items. Every single donation will go towards making a positive impact in the lives of these children. Urgently Needed ItemsFun Food Demo with Top Chefs! (PAST)
On Sunday 4th June were were join by renowned chefs Kane Pollard, Rosa Matto and Mandy Hall who delivered an exciting and informative food demonstration in collaboration with Slow Food South Australia to celebrate World Environment Day (5 June). This fun demonstration was hosted by Mandy Hall and showcased creative ways to utilise peels, tops, leaves, bones, and more, reducing packaging and waste while maximising nutrients and saving yourself money. It highlighted the importance of shopping locally with our incredible producers at the farmers' market. It was held inside the Eastern end of the market pavilion.

Market Mum's Day Farmers' Market Hamper Winners
On Sunday 14th May at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market celebrated “Market Mums’ Day” and gave away Farmers’ Market Hamper filled with farm fresh produce supplied by our very own farmers to two very lucky Mums. This was a limited draw and the prizes were drawn at 12 noon on Sunday.
