2025 Candidates

Rae Chapple – Community Member – Current Committee Member

As a local resident, I’ve shopped at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market since its inception and have served on the Committee for the past two years.

I am an avid sustainability advocate, organic gardener and environmentalist, therefore am well aware of the health benefits fresh seasonal produce offers.

Since childhood, where a philosophical parenting approach engendered a strong ethical and moral understanding of my place in the world and where sharing with others has immense value: Where, as a parent, employed in a Preschool working with children strengthened flexibility:  As an instructor of alternative therapies and as a Life Style volunteer in an Aged Care dementia unit often required thinking outside of the box whilst still working within a specified framework:  As a business owner specialising in Industry approved specification for the Hospital and Age Care Industries, required attention to detail…

These life experiences has taught me well.  Equanimity, compassionate understanding, business acumen, along with the ability to view circumstances from a micro/ macro procedural perspective are important life realisations and are specific attributes I continue to offer as second term member of the ASFM Committee.

Continuing to serve on the Adelaide Showgrounds Farmers Market (ASFM) committee is an exciting opportunity for me, driven by my deep-rooted passion for sustainable farming and community engagement. My attention to detail, organisational skills, and experience in maintaining accurate records and facilitating efficient communication within the committee are assets that can greatly benefit your team.

As a registered nurse, I’ve also developed strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills through my 20 years in healthcare. This experience has honed my ability to handle diverse situations with empathy and professionalism.
